Job Title:            Trainee HR Administrator

Salary:                  £18,000 per annum plus £500 sign on bonus

Hours:                  Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

Work Environment:

You will work within our Travel Team who strive to deliver a focused, high quality service to the firm’s business travellers.   You will be working in a team which provides travel bookings, support and assistance and focuses on the traveller’s safety, comfort and convenience.   You will be the first point of contact for all administrative and operations queries.   It’s a role where you will complete daily tasks, as well as work on projects that will improve the performance of the team as a whole.   We will also provide training and support so that you can start making bookings too.

What might a day in this job look like?

As a Trainee HR Administrator, you will spend most of your time in the HR Operations and Talent and Development team, although you will also gain an understanding of how things work across our other teams in the Human Resources Department including Reward and Policy, Resourcing and HR Advisory.

During your time with HR Operations your role will be to help provide an efficient and effective operational support service to the business. Your tasks will include providing general administrative and system support on key HR processes such as, but not limited to, recruitment, onboarding, job changes, absence and leavers, ensuring the maintenance of accurate employee and HR records, producing HR correspondence and documentation where required, supporting HR projects as and when required and acting as a point of contact for operational HR enquiries from the business.

During your time in Talent and Development you will assist in providing an effective and efficient administration support to the T&D function and wider firm. This will involve supporting our Programme Management, including issuing invites, room booking and ensuring catering requirements are met, producing trainer packs and delegate lists and meeting and greeting trainers and external suppliers as and when required.  Maintenance of and data input to our learning management system, LEAP, will also be required.   There will also be the opportunity to support project work and gain insight into the Learning & Development function at Baillie Gifford.

What will I Learn?

The apprenticeship programme will provide a combination of classroom based and on the job training to allow you to achieve a SVQ Information Business and Administration at SCQF Level 6.

This will be a combination of technical training to do your job to the best of your ability, some soft skills learning and the opportunity to learn about what our industry is all about.
