Job Title: Trainee Administrator to Trading Team
Type: Modern Apprenticeship
Salary: £18,000 per annum plus £500 sign on bonus
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

You will work within our Trading team who strive to deliver a focused, high quality service to the firm’s investment team. You will be working in a team based in both Edinburgh and more recently, Hong Kong. You will be the first point of contact for all administrative and some operations queries. It’s a role where you will complete daily tasks, as well as work on projects that will improve the performance of the team as a whole. We will also provide training and support so that you can start making bookings too.
What might a day in this job look like?
As a Trainee Administrator, you will spend most of your time working with the Trading team, although you will also gain an understanding of how things work across some of our other teams within the Investment Services Group.
Your role will be to help provide an effective operational support service to the business. Your tasks will include updating internal documents; adding data to some systems; arranging meetings with our key counterparts and learning how to take efficient and effective meeting minutes.
During your time in Trading, you will assist in providing an efficient administration support to the team as required. This involves supporting our Head of Trading and the wider team, including our trading data analysts. You will be given support from within the team to allow you to learn the different aspects of the role and enjoy working with us. There is a lot to learn in this dynamic, busy department however we do not see this opportunity leading to a Trading role.
What will I Learn?
The apprenticeship programme will provide a combination of classroom based and on the job training to allow you to achieve an SVQ Information Business and Administration at SCQF Level 6.

This will be a combination of technical training to do your job to the best of your ability, some soft skills learning and the opportunity to learn about what our industry is all about.
